I undertook my masters in Neuropharmacoloy at the National University of Ireland Galway, my thesis project investigated the role of neuroinflammation in the regulation of autophagy in a rat Parkinsons disease model. After my masters I completed my PhD at the Univeristy of Leicester, UK. My project used in vivo and in vitro electrophysiology techniques to investigate brain network deficits in a rodent schizophrenia model (in potassium channel subunit (Kv3) knockout mice). I am now working as a technician in the de la Rocha lab on a project in which circuit mechanisms of priors and learning during decision making will be investigated.
